James P. Gott , 58, of Colona, IL, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, in Colona.

A memorial service will be 11am on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025 at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline, IL, with visitation one hour prior to services.  There will be a luncheon at the church to follow. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Wounded Warriors.

James was born on January 22, 1967, in Monmouth, Illinois, to Paul and Deborah (Hanson) Gott. He graduated from Warren High School, Class of 1985.

He was a forklift operator with John Deere Parts & Distribution Center, Milan, IL, and a member of UAW Local 79.  He had a deep passion for music, enjoying concerts and especially playing guitar and drums.  His love of animals, particularly dogs, brought him great joy, and he cherished their companionship.  A passionate gamer, he found relaxation in his favorite virtual worlds.

Surviving are his daughters, Brittiny DeJarnett, Clanton, Alabama, and Alyssa Gott Prattville, Alabama; mother and stepfather, Deborah and Robert Hall, East Moline, IL; father, Paul Gott, St. Louis, MO; brother, Corey Hall, Moline, IL; sister, Christy Dunbar, East Moline, IL; maternal grandmother, Carol Hanson, Galesburg, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family.

James was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gene Hanson; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Gott; and paternal grandmother, Beulah Smith.
