Funeral services for James M. Hatch, 74, of Davenport, IA, will be 11:00 AM Saturday at St Anthony's Catholic Church, Davenport, IA. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Mr. Hatch died Monday, July 30, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rushholme Street, Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made to the Alleman Girls Basketball Program. Jim was born September 6, 1937 in Marysville, KS, the son of George R. and Nellie Brien Hatch. He married Doris Malotte August 11, 1956 in Marysville. He had worked for the Clinton Herald, Iowa Press Citizen, and the Des Moines Register as an advertising salesman. He currently had been an associate at the Davenport Walmart. Jim had been an avid runner and gardener. He had been a high school and college referee for over 30 years. He enjoyed Dixieland Jazz and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He had been an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Doris Hatch, Davenport; sons, Thomas (Paula) Hatch, Grinnell, IA, Tracy (Claudia) Hatch, Spreicher, Germany, and Jay (Lori) Hatch, Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Jay, Charles, Nellie, James, Phillip, Jon, Emily, and Erin; sister, Marjorie Vogel, Overland Park, KS; brother, George B.
