James D. King, 61, Silvis, died Friday, June 16, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer at Trinity Medical, Rock Island. Funeral services are 10 AM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in James's name. James blessed this earth on July 9, 1944, the son of James and Pansy King. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and his wide circle of friends. James also enjoyed yard sales, and restoring cars. James retired in 1994 after 31 years of dedicated work at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy, 3 daughters and sons-in-law Nanette and Jimmy Franks, Batesville, Ark, Connie and Jason Dunehew, Batesville and Jennifer and Benjamin Pearson, Cambridge, IL, seven grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren a brother William King, Hampton, a sister Alice VanKlavern, Cleveland, IL and several nieces and nephews.
