James P. McCooley, 48, of Coal Valley, IL, died Friday, July, 7, 2017, at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. James was born December 17, 1968, in Moline, IL, the son of James D. and Joanne Shumake McCooley. He was currently working as a respiratory therapist at St. Margaret Hospital, Spring Valley, IL. He was a Chicago Cub and Bears fan. Survivors include his parents, James D. and Joanne McCooley, Silvis; brothers, Mark McCooley, Bartonville, IL, John (Desire) McCooley, Rock Island, IL; nieces, Sarah and Eliza McCooley; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Bertice McCooley and Stanton and Lucille Shumake. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, East Moline.
