Funeral services for James E. "Jim" Minson, 71, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4-8 Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Minson died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Jim was born June 30, 1936 in Boone, IA, the son of George and Catherine (Roberts) Minson. He married Mary Ann DeClercq July 29, 1967 in Rock Island, IL. He had served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from John Deere Harvester, East Moline, in 1993, after 30 years of service. He had been a member of the East End Bolders Club, Moline, the East Moline American Legion, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Survivors include: his wife of 40 years, Mary Ann Minson of East Moline; daughter, Julie Minson of Moline; grandson, Austin James Minson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Brad Carswell of Boone, IA, Maurene Morris of Boone, Marge and Ron McNeil of Boone, Marilyn and Lyle Stoops of Ames, IA.
