Funeral services for James W. "Jim" Parker, 79, of Hampton, IL, will be 10:00AM Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Hampton, IL. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mr. Parker died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, as a result from a fall at home. Jim was born October 23, 1935 in Albia, IA, the son of Theodore and Florence Gragg Parker. He married Delores Heins August 17, 1962 in Victor, IA. He retired from the former John Deere Foundry, Silvis in 1989, after 28 years of service. He was currently working for Dahl Ford, Davenport. Jim was an avid race car fan. In his earlier years, he helped build and maintain a stock car for his son, Stan. In his later years, Jim loved NASCAR, old western movies, and the WWE. Survivors include his wife, Delores Parker, Hampton; daughter, Cindy (Brian) Metlika, Jacksonville, FL; son, Stanley (Irene) Parker, Colona, IL; grandchildren, Shanay White, Dakota and Jack Metlika, Kevin and Kyle Parker; 2 great granddaughters, Elena and Isbella. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ellen Haines, Kathryn McKim, and Louise Hardin. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Little Lambs Preschool.
