James F. Phillips, 88, passed away at his home in Apple Valley, MN, on March 08, 2022. He was born on December 7, 1933, in Zanesville, OH to Thomas Herbert and Helen (Arter) Phillips. James graduated from United Township High School, East Moline, IL class of 1951. He retired from management with 33 years of service from International Harvester, Rock Island, IL. He had a second career with Prospect Foundry in Minneapolis, MN. James belonged to the Doric 319 Lodge in Moline, IL, and Kaaba Shriners, Davenport, IA.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patricia "Pat" (LaPeere) Phillips, Apple Valley, MN; Children, Kay Phillips, Prior Lake, MN and Byron (Marge) Phillips, Burnsville, MN; Grandchildren, Ryan Carty, Prior Lake, MN Meghan (Jason) Gaddes of Savage, MN, Olivia (Austin) Asmus, Oceanside, CA, Stephanie Phillips of Burnsville, and Cullen John, Los Angeles, CA; Great Granddaughter, Ava Asmus, Oceanside, CA; Brother, Thomas (Lois) Phillips of Oviedo, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Helen; Brothers, Ira Phillips and Jack Phillips; Sisters, Lydia Manley, and Rhea Conkle; Infant Granddaughter, Desiree Carty.

He was always there to help family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation, Saturday, June 4, 2022, 10:00AM-11:00AM followed by Memorial Service at 11:AM, all at Van Hoe Funeral Home LTD, East Moline, IL. Memorials to St. Jude Hospital or Shriners Hospital.
