James S. Pihl, 67, of East Moline, passed away Feb. 2, 2016, at home. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. James was born Nov. 13, 1948, in Galesburg, the son of Ted O. and Lorayne Pihl. James last worked as an administrator in the siding and roofing business. He enjoyed music and played guitar with several bands throughout the years. James was very artistic with his hands and enjoyed building things, but his first love was his music. James is survived by daughters, Katherine Amanda Pihl, Iowa City, Esther Victoria Pihl, Tiffin, Iowa, Maria Jeanette (Kevin) Adams, Iowa City, Jessica Marie Pihl, Los Angeles, Calif., and Ruth Ann Pihl, Iowa City; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to the family.
