James C. Stewart, 86, of Silvis, passed away Monday April 8, 2024 at St. Anthony's Care Center, Rock Island.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 16, 2024 at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, with Military Honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post 246. Those wishing to attend should meet at Van Hoe Funeral Home, 1500 6th St., East Moline, at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to process to the cemetery.

James was born on July 12, 1937 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, the son of Claire and Hilda (Dobson) Stewart. He married Lydia Ellen Heursman on December 27, 1969.

Mr. Stewart was employed with John Deere for over 25 years as a machinist.

James enjoyed his time with family and friends.

James is survived by his loving wife, Ellen; sisters, Jane Jones, Erie, Lois Rogers, Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Francis Stage.
