A memorial visitation for James "Jim" Suter, 88, of Silvis, IL, will be held Friday, March 24, 2017, from noon until 3:00 pm at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be held at 2:30 pm. Burial will be held at a later date in Aurora, IL. Mr. Suter died Tuesday March 21, 2017, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis. Jim was born March 9, 1929, in Ft. Madison, IA, the son of George and Roxie Kurtz Suter. He married Marylind "Lindie" (Spexarth) Rhea May 5, 1989, in Oswego. Jim retired from Caterpillar, Aurora, IL. He and Lindie enjoyed ballroom dancing and had been active members of Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Jim enjoyed woodworking, helping with Cursillo, and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. Survivors include his wife, Lindie Suter, Silvis; children, Gregory Suter, Bolingbrook, IL, Christy (Paul) Zielske, Oswego, Kathryn (Dan) Pasholk, Montgomery, IL, Melissa (Randy) Fetting, Yorkville, IL, A.J. (Babs) Suter, Hillcrest, IL, and Brian Suter, Yorkville; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Sample, Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jimmy Suter, daughter, Mary Beth Suter, his first wife, Patricia (Groom) Suter, and 7 siblings.
