Funeral services for James M. Taylor, 85, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Taylor died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. Jim was born September 3, 1925 in Corinth, MS, the son of Samuel and Maddie Taylor. He married Helen "Alene" Stacy in 1949 in Rock Island, IL. He later married Lillian Bull Riskadahl. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He retired from International Harvester, East Moline in 1981 after 33 years of service. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Survivors include his son James (Violet) Taylor of East Moline; step-sons, Don (Donna) Holloman of Palmdale, CA, Mike (Virginia) Holloman of East Moline; grandchildren, Gayle Sundburg, Kimber (Mike) Owens, James (Mendy) Taylor, and Joshua Taylor; several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; step brother, Tom (Nancy) Singleton of Corinth, MS; special longtime companion, Pauline Sullivan of East Moline, special friends Debbie Heald and Abby Heald and a daughter-in-law Lois He is preceded in death by his parents,sister, Nancy Mae Cornwell, and brother, Sanford Taylor.
