James "T" Theadore Roden, 84, Colona, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Banner Baywood Medical Center, in Mesa, AZ. Funeral services are 10 AM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 PM Monday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established. James was born November 10, 1929 in Winfield, AL, the son of Olen and Frances (Stephenson) Roden Sr. He retired in 1986 from John Deere Parts Distribution Warehouse in Milan as an Auditor. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Beverly Jean Lindley on September 17, 1955 in Colona. "T" enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. Tinkering in the community wood shop while wintering in Arizona for the past 10 years, gave him great pleasure. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Beverly, daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Pat Burke, Mesa, Denise and Brian Keegan, Matthews, NC, and Jamie and Jim Olson, Ramsey, MN, grandchildren, Jim and Aaron Burke, Hannah Keegan (fiance James DelaRiva), Slater Keegan and Brooke and Austin Olson, great granddaughter, Maylyn Gail, brother Olen Roden Jr., Guin, AL and son-in-law, Randy Minor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Pam Minor, and four brothers.
