James W. Webb Sr., 96, of Milan, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church, Milan.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline.  Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.  Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Milan.

James was born on November 30, 1928, in Danville, IA, the son of Seth and Adra (Holcomb) Webb.  He was married to Patricia Ann until her passing, James later married Jacqueline in 2016.  James worked for 38 years as a steam hammer operator at John Deere Harvester, retiring in 1984.  He was a true cowboy and horseman.  James enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing, and hunting.  He was an active member/elder at First Presbyterian Church, Milan.  James served as the Vice President of the Local UAW Union.  He was very handy and built his log cabin home from scratch.  He was proud to be a lifelong Campbell's Islander.

James is survived by his wife, Jackie Webb; children, Sherry Chelchowki, James (Diane "Annie") Webb Jr., Kenneth "Beaver" (Glenda) Webb, and Gene (David Stowe) Webb; step children, Larry (Ann), Donna (Mark) Graves, Retha (Randy) Bender, Melissa (Paul) Guss, Kathy (Karl) Schroche, and Brad Smith; 12 grandchildren; numerous great, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Bill and Melanie Smith.  He was preceded in death by spouse, Patricia Webb; daughter, Deborah Kipp; grandchildren, Kenny Webb, Jennifer Larson, and Stephanie Bevenour; son-in-law, Andrew Chelchowski; and his siblings.
