James Wildermuth, 74, East Moline, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 surrounded by his family. Funeral services are 4 PM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Private burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery, Seymour, IA. Visitation is from 1PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Jim was born on January 4, 1943 in Rock Island, the son of Lester and Esther (Clark) Wildermuth. He retired as an assembler for the former International Harvester Case, East Moline. He married Evelyn (Mattly) Cornmesser on July 7, 1977 in Milan. She died June 20, 2012. Jim enjoyed going to the local casinos and was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan. Survivors include his children, Vicky (Wayne) Carrick, Debbie (Eric) Wesler, and Connie Sump, step-children, Johnnie (Julie) Cornmesser, Davenport, Pamela Kallestad, Peru, IA, Bruce (Connie) Cornmesser, Moline, and Annette Granack (Juan Gallegos), Rock Island, 24 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, siblings, Donna Wildermuth (Nancy Stolley), Milan and Bob (Jeanette) Wildermuth, Blue Grass, IA, sister-in-law Janet Kirkpatrick, Davenport, step-son-in-law Jerry Pauwels, step-daughter-in-law, Tammy Cornmesser and his special friend and casino buddy, Wanda Miller, East Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Evelyn, brother Ron, step daughter Mary Pauwels and step son, Joe Cornmesser.
