James E. Winger, 82, East Moline, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Funeral services are 11 AM Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Memorials may be made to the family. James was born on December 10, 1934 in Seymour, IA, the son of Frank and Olga (Mecham) Winger. He married Janice Welsh on June 19, 1954 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rock Island. He had worked at the former John Deere Plow Planter and retired as a supervisor from John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline in 1992. Jim enjoyed motocross in early years, as well as fishing and shooting. He was a member of the Elks. Survivors include his wife of nearly 63 years, Janice, children, Linda (Mark) Yuknis, East Moline, Judy (John) DeCapp, Moline, Donna Anderson, Moline, Karen Keegan, Silvis, Paula (William) DeClerck, Moline and James (Cara) Winger, New Castle, IN, nineteen grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank.
