Janet “Jan” A. MacFarlane, 88, of Moline, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2026, at her residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline.

Jan was born on January 9, 1938, in Davenport, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Tufts) Rogers. She married Rene Nagel on June 11, 1960, and he preceded her in passing in 1995. She later married George MacFarlane on November 7, 1998, and he preceded her in passing in 2015. She worked as a nurse at the office of the late Dr. Thomas J. Durkin M.D. Jan was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. She loved sewing quilts and church banners for seasons of the liturgical year. Jan enjoyed taking care of her flower garden, watching/feeding wildlife and her horse, Crystal.

Jan is survived by her children, Mark Nagel, Moline and Kathleen Smith, Norridge, IL; 2 grandchildren; siblings, Sister Alice Rogers, Rita Rogers, and Dave (Peg) Rogers; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands and brother, Ken Rogers.
