Janet C. "Jan" Anderson, 68, of East Moline, IL, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Team Becky for childhood cancer.

Janet was born September 30, 1954, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Norman "Tip" and Dorothy Tickoff Schadt. She graduated from UTHS, Class of 1972, Western Illinois University, Class of 1976, and received her Master's degree from Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa. Janet and Dennis M. "Denny" Anderson were married on August 14, 1976 in Silvis, IL.

Janet was a special education teacher for 38 years, teaching at Silvis Junior High School and later at George O. Barr Elementary School. She was a dedicated teacher and appreciated the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of her students.

She was equally passionate in her charity work and fund raising for childhood cancer for Team Becky, established following the death of her daughter, Rebecca "Becky". She enjoyed her involvement in fund raising events, painting rocks for Rock Out A Cure, scrap booking "Crop" events, and Dance Marathon in Iowa City.

Surviving are her husband, Denny, of East Moline; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Christina Anderson, Holly Springs, NC; grandchildren, Iris, Elliot and Logan Anderson; sister-in-law, Linda (Jeff) Boyle, East Moline; brother-in-law, Darrel Cutkomp, East Moline; many nieces, nephews, one aunt and other family.

Janet was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Anderson; parents; brother, Dennis Schadt; and sister-in-law, Susan Cutkomp.
