Janet A. Miller, 67, Colona, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis, after a long illness. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00-8:00PM at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. At Janet's request, her body has been donated to scientific study. She was born June 24, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa. She started her career as a CNA in California. She moved back to Illinois and received her nursing degree from Black Hawk College. Janet started as a LPN at Mitchell Park Nursing Home, East Moline and later at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center, Rock Island. When Rosewood in Moline opened there facility, she started there as a floor nurse and taught wound care to the staff, specialists and rehab nurses. Because of her proficiency, she was promoted to a corporate traveling nurse for Rosewood. She traveled throughout the state to the 13 nursing homes owned by Rosewood to assure that all the care centers followed Rosewood's and the State's Guidelines. Nursing was truly her passion. survivors include her husband of 29 years, George E. Miller, sons Randy (Amy) Stock, Marshall Miller and Ronald Miller, granddaughter Taylor Stock, grandsons; Tyler, Jacob and Zachary Miller and brothers; Clyde Hostens Jr., Robert (Stormy) Hostens, Richard (Linda) Hostens and Jeff (Karen) Hostens.
