Janet K. Montgomery, 78, of Rock Island, IL, died Thursday, January 3, 2019, at her home, surrounded by family and friends. All family and friends are welcome to come to a time of sharing Saturday, January 12th at the Riverfront Grill 4619 34th Street, Rock Island from 4-8 pm. Memorial services will be 3pm Saturday January 19th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Rock Island. Janet Terhune was born January 22, 1940, in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Herman Clark and Della Frances Chelf Terhune. She married Dean Montgomery June 6, 1959, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, IA. He died January 8, 1985. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was passionate about watching Brad and Kyle drive at the stock car races. She was deeply devoted to her ministry as a Jehovah's Witness. Survivors include her sons, Brad (Cherie) Montgomery, Milan, IL, Bart (Nicci) Montgomery, Tipton, IA, and Brit (Brenda) Montgomery, Tipton; grandchildren, Kori (Terry) Bates, Deana (Terry) Nelson, Cody Montgomery, Kyle Montgomery, Brooklyn Montgomery, Taylor Axberg, Claire Montgomery, Ryan Montgomery, Amanda (Kenny) Schmidt, April Griffin, Conner Montgomery, and Aden Euring; great grandchildren, Tucker, Braydon, Carter, Jett, Ember, Huxly, Kinsley, Keylee, Vayda, and Rhyker; along with many spiritual sons, daughters, nieces, nephews & grandchildren; sister, Pat Bartenhagen, Muscatine, IA; sister-in-law, Kay Terhune, Muscatine; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Lowell (Pat) Terhune and Albert Terhune. Memorials may be made to Charity Care Support at the Clarissa C.
