Funeral services for Janet K. Russell, 55, of East Moline, IL, will be 1:00PM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00PM Friday (today) at the funeral home. Mrs. Russell died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at her home after a year long battle with lung cancer. Memorials may be made to the ARC of Rock Island County. Janet Bunch was born March 10, 1957 in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Hubert and Phyllis Cassity Bunch. She married Mike Russell July 28, 1979 in Moline, IL. She worked as a computer programmer for the Rock Island/Milan School District. Janet had been a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, especially when they would hang out at the pool. Survivors include, her husband, Mike Russell, East Moline; daughter, Trisha (Tony) Fritz, East Moline; son, Anthony Russell, Moline; grandchildren, Lauren, Lexi, and London Fritz; mother, Phyllis Bunch East Moline; brother, Mike (Darbie) Bunch, Colona; sisters, Diana (Rick) Reel and Kathy (Doug) Wiegel, both of East Moline; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father. The family requests that anyone who has a "Jammin for Janet" shirt please wear it to the visitation in honor of Janet's courageous fight with cancer.
