Funeral services for Janice Lee Smith, 66, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Wednesday at Memorial Christian Church, 1624 Avenue of the Cities, Moline. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Moline. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Jan passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 at her home after a two-year battle with cancer. Memorials may be made to the New Kingdom Trailriders. Jan was born April 7, 1947 to Forest Dale and Wilma Claire Arbogast McIntosh in Moline. She graduated Moline High School in 1965. She married Ronald Smith March 11, 1972 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Moline. They had five children. Jan was known as "Skateland Jan" by many. She loved skating and taught all five children to skate. Jan never met anyone that she could not talk to. She strived to be a good Christian. She enjoyed going to her children's sporting events and Moline Boys Choir. She enjoyed her time with and talking to her grandchildren. Jan and Ron were long time subscribers to Circa 21 in Rock Island. She loved to see her son, Jordan when he was in productions At Playcrafters, Richmond Hill, and New Ground. She also loved going to Harrison Hilltop Theater at the District in Rock Island. She became friends with many of the actors. Jan worked at Moline Public Hospital as a dietary worker and housekeeping before she became a full-time mother. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Smith, Moline; daughter, RisaJilane Claire Smith, Milan, IL; sons, Ryan Smith, Bloomington, IL, Jed Hunter Smith, Chatsworth, IL, Jordan Lee Smith, Davenport, IA, Jared Dale Smith, Dickinson, ND; daughter-in-law, Jenifer Shandrow-Smith, Normal, IL; grandchildren, Austin Joseph, Dakota Iris, Holden Christian, Caitlin Ryleigh, Alana Quinn, and Gavin Donovan.
