Funeral services for Jarvis O'Shea Sherrod, 29, formerly of Rock Island are 1 PM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Hampton Township Cemetery, Hampton. Visitation is 3-7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Jarvis died Sunday, August 27, 2006 in an automobile accident in Lake of the Ozarks, MO. A memorial fund has been established. Jarvis was born April 30, 1977 in Rock Island, the son of Eugene and Vickie (Sneed) Sherrod. Jarvis was employed as assistant district manager at Hy-Vee and worked at Tanature Resorts in Missouri. He enjoyed Golf, fishing, hunting and was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan. Survivors (and spouses) include his mother Vickie, Silvis, father Eugene, Rock Island, daughter Hannah Meiers, Davenport, fiancee Crystal Hoogerwerf, Lake of the Ozarks, sister Dionna (Terrell) Swanigan, Silvis, brothers Eugene (Christina) Sherrod Jr., Davenport, IA and Laru (Anita) Berry, Colorado, grandmothers Dorothy Sneed, Silvis and Lacy Bea Sherrod, Louisville, Mississippi, and his best friends Jamie Richardson Dennis Gonzales and Justin Hoogerwerf. His grandfathers Francis Sneed and Moses Sherrod precede him in death.
