Funeral services for Jeffrey Gant, 50, St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of East Moline, are 6PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Graveside services are 11:30 AM Saturday at Macon County Memorial Park, Decatur, IL. Visitation is 3PM until service time. A memorial fund has been established. Jeff died Monday, March 21, 2011 at his home. He was born January 7, 1961 in Decatur, the son of Larry and Eileen (Woodrum) Gant. Jeff was in the class of 1979 at UTHS. He joined the Marine Corp out of High School. He moved to Florida in 1995 and held various jobs in the shipping industry. He enjoyed Franks pizza and was a Chicago Bear Fan. He loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. Survivors include his mother Eileen Gant, East Moline, his companion Ellen Custodio and her children Craig and Stephanie Custodio and her grandchildren Ashton and Adrianna, his brothers Kevin (Lisa) Gant, Silvis, and Rich (fiance Mechele Egan) Gant, East Moline, and a sister-in-law Mary Ann Gant. He is preceded in death by his father and brothers Dennis and Michael.
