Jeffrey F. Guthrie, 61, East Moline, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at Genesis East, Davenport. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial is at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers and gifts, a memorial fund has been established. Jeff was born Sept. 11, 1953, in Moline, the son of Frank and Florence Dhaemers Guthrie. He married Kathy Blunke on May 24, 1974. Jeff was an artist who had an incredible knack for graphic design. He co-owned Midwest Graphics Management, East Moline. He was a tireless activist for East Moline, and in particular the Downtown. He volunteered his time and invested his life in East Moline. Jeff also worked with the city of Rock Island on many projects. His energy was endless and his presence will be deeply missed. He had a love for cars, especially those of European design. Survivors include his children, Adam Guthrie, Moline; daughter, Dorie Guthrie, Brooklyn, N.Y.; brother, Frank Guthrie, Kathy Guthrie, Shawnee, Kan.; and his girlfriend, Laura Henneman, Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Maxine.
