Jeffrey "Jeff" H. Wieland, 72, of Moline, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Mercy One Genesis – Silvis Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the funeral home, with a recitation of the rosary at 3:00 pm.  Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline.  Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund.

Jeff was born on September 17, 1952, in Moline, the son of Harold and Lorraine (Ballegeer) Wieland.   Jeff graduated from United Township High School in 1970 and received his BA from Augustana College in 1974.  He was a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Illinois Society of CPAs.  He married Cynthia Carlson on October 15, 1977 in Moline.

Jeff was a Vice President of First Midwest Bank, Moline for many years.  He joined Joy State Bank in 1997 as their Senior Vice President and Controller. He retired in 2008, but continued his position as a member of the bank's Board of Directors until 2017. He also served as past president of the Rock Island Morning Kiwanis and the Mississippi Valley Bank Administration Institute.

Jeff enjoyed playing chess, model trains, was an avid reader, and loved listening to music.   He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His sense of humor was unmatched, and if he teased you a lot, you knew you were loved.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Cindy Wieland, Moline; daughters, Jennifer Wieland and Jessica (Andrew) Danek, both of Moline; grandchildren, Thomas (Ashley) Reich, Natalie, Emily, Claire, and Josh Danek; nephews, Chris Hehmeyer and Matt (Jue) Hehmeyer; great nephew, Arthur Hehmeyer; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Wieland.
