Funeral services for Jeffrey A. Jacobsen, 59, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Jacobsen died Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Genesis, Silvis. Jeff was born October 1, 1956, in Kenosha, WI, the son of Robert and Nancy Rannow Jacobsen. He married Rhonda Fordham May 28, 1988, in Rock Island, IL. Jeff served in the United States Army National Guard for 20 years, retiring in 1995. He also retired from the Rock Island County Sheriff's Department in 2015, with over 30 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Rhonda; daughters, Misti (Steven) Kruse, New Windsor, IL; sons, Mark Jacobsen (Nancy Pham), Longwood, FL, and Matthew Jacobsen (Samantha Berthoud) Carbon Cliff, IL; grandchildren, Joshua and Brittany Kruse, Teagan Berthoud, and Amelia Jacobsen; mother, Nancy Jacobsen, East Moline; sisters, Debra (Tom) Phillips, Rock Island, Colleen (Daryl) Trobaugh, Moline, IL, Janelle (Douglas) Herrmann, Moline, and Jennifer (Randy) Ballard, Silvis; brothers, Robert Jacobsen, East Moline, Eric Jacobsen, East Moline, Steven (Gail) Jacobsen East Moline, and David (Cindy) Jacobsen, East Moline; brother-in-law, Tim Ruefer, Rock Island; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; sister; Paula Ruefer; nephew, Andrew; and great niece, Abriel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
