Jerrold A. Isom, 72, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015. Military Honors will be performed at 10 AM Wednesday at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established. Jerrold was born on May 13, 1943 in Moline, IL, the son of James D. and Verle (Johnson) Isom. He married Julia Scott in 1962 and they had 2 children, Curtis, and Cynthia. He married Sandra McKinley in 1980 and they had a son James. Mr. Isom was a plans analyst at the Rock Island Arsenal for 38 years, retiring in 2001. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era, and kept in contact with many of the men who served on the USS Massey. Jerry loved reading, researching his family's genealogy, Egyptian history, and working. He was very meticulous in everything he did. He was passionate about watching movies, but loved his grandchildren most of all. Survivors include his children, Curtis L. Isom, East Moline, Cynthia (Tim) Carter, Garnet, KS, Vernon R. Isom, Silvis and James EA Isom (Rachel Calloway), Davenport, four grandchildren with one on the way, 3 great grandchildren with one on the way, and sister Margaret Johnson, Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ira Waggoner, VerNeil Waggoner, James Isom and Jason Isom.
