Graveside Service
Rock Island National Cemetery
Starts at 1:00 pm (Central time)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Wayne Reeser on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Jerry was born on July 30, 1944, in Colona, IL, to Wayne and Gladys (Brokaw) Reeser. Jerry lived a life marked by dedication to service, education, and the aviation industry that he loved.
A graveside service with military honors will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Rock Island National Cemetery. Per Jerry’s request there won’t be a visitation, and those wishing to attend Jerry’s graveside service are asked to meet at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, by 12:30 pm, to process over to the cemetery.
Jerry was a proud graduate of Augustana College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. His commitment to serving others led him to join the U.S. Army, where he distinguished himself as a veteran and earned a diploma as a Neuroscientist Specialist, demonstrating his intellectual curiosity and dedication to specialized knowledge.
Throughout his professional life, Jerry made significant contributions to the aviation industry. He built an impressive career retiring from two separate airlines. His passion for the field extended beyond commercial aviation, as he also served the community through his work at the Quad City Airport and the Visitor Center, where he shared his knowledge and helped countless travelers. Jerry also traveled to many destinations and enjoyed going on cruises. When he wasn’t working or traveling, he could be found reading a good book.
Jerry’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him and will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
Jerry is survived by his partner of 38 years, David Biggs; sister, Connie Chrisop; brother, Brian Reeser; and nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
