Funeral services for Jesse Coronell Jr., 76 of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Private committal services will be held at a later date. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00PM. Mr. Coronell died Sunday, August 03, 2008 at his home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for his daughter, Jessica Coronell's Education Fund. Jesse was born May 14, 1932 in Silvis, IL, the son of Jesse and Mary (Perez) Coronell Sr. He attended UTHS. He married Sharon Gibson. He had been a sheer operator at the former International Harvester Plant, East Moline, retiring in 1986 after 36 years of service. He and his wife, Sharon co-founded Junior Panthers in 1969 and they were actively involved with the Junior Panthers until 1991. He had been the Youth Director for Catholic Order of Foresters for 5 years. In his youth had been an excellent athlete. He was an avid bowler with 126 trophies, 279 basketball trophies and many judo trophies. He was a #1 Panther Fan. Survivors include: his wife of 54 years, Sharon Coronell; daughters, Nancy Coronell and Jessica Coronell; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Coronell, Gary and Mary Coronell, Frank Coronell, Dr. Dan and Lori Coronell, and Clint Coronell; 16 grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Miller, Stella Coronell, and Penny Coronell.
