Funeral services for Jesus "Chico" Mancilla, 84 of East Moline, IL, will be 11:00 AM Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Visitation will be 9:00-10:30 AM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd, East Moline. Burial will be in Parroquia De Nuestra Señora De La Paz, Guadalajara, Mexico. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. Jesus was born February 4, 1924 in Lagos De Moreno, Jaliso, Mexico, the son of Ernesto and Victoria (Lara) Mancilla. He married Esperanza Guerrero October 29, 1948 in Lagos De Moreno. She died in 1972. Jesus was a talented singer. He was a licensed Charro in the state of Jalisco. While in Mexico he had been a star on XEW Radio in Mexico. While in East Moline, he had been a singer in various Mexican restaurants, including Tortilla Flats and Adolph's. Survivors include: daughters and son-in-law, Leticia and Jesus Santana of Mexico, Beatriz Ramirez of Mexico; son and daughter-in-law, Javier and Betzabet Mancilla of Mexico; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; sisters, Elva and Olga; brothers, Alfredo and Alberto; several nieces and nephews.
