Jesus 'El Rocky' Rea Sr., 75, East Moline, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Genesis, Illini. Funeral services are 11 AM Tuesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is from 4-7PM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 5PM. Memorials may be made to the family. Jesus was born on June 20, 1941 in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico, the son of Esiquio and Valeria (Montecino) Rea. He married Catalina Valtierra in 1960 in Irapuato. He worked for the former Rock Island Lines. He enjoyed listening to music, fishing, gardening, an occasional trip to the casinos, working on cars and was a dedicated Cubs fan. Most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Catalina, children, Josefina Calderon, Muscatine, IA, Jesus (Amy) Rea Jr., Moline, Maria Miller, East Moline, Ismael(Lisa) Rea, Silvis, Alicia (Noel) Valenzuela, Moline, Ramon (Gaby) Rea, East Moline and Jaime (Tonya) Rea, Rock Island. 26 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Martin, 3 brothers and a sister.
