Jimmy Leon Snyder Jr. , of Moline, Illinois, was born on November 15, 1964, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Jimmy and Bernadine (Newberg) Snyder. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 25, 2026, at Generations in Rock Island, Illinois.

Jimmy was a proud member of the graduating Class of 1983 at the Jacksonville Illinois School for the Deaf. He began his working life at Skills in Moline before later working at Pizza Hut and Steak 'n Shake.

Jimmy enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, including riding his bicycle, bowling, throwing picks, and playing billiards with friends. He was also a devoted Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals fan for his entire life.

Jimmy is lovingly survived by his parents, Jimmy Sr. and Bernadine Snyder of Silvis, Illinois; his sisters, Joanna Snyder-VanErstvelde of Naples, Florida, and Julie (Snyder) Birkestrand and her husband Dan of Rochester, Minnesota. He was a proud uncle to Ashton Snyder and José Villagomez of Davenport, Iowa; Colby VanErstvelde of Naples, Florida; Cory and Melanie Birkestrand, and their son Jacob, of Blue Springs, Missouri; MaKenzie and Jack Convery of Rochester, Minnesota; and Kailey Birkestrand, also of Rochester, Minnesota. Jimmy also leaves behind dear friends who meant so much to him, Steven, Felipe, and Kathy.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Elizabeth (Wheelock) Newberg; his paternal grandparents, Willis and Ethel (Jones) Snyder; and his longtime girlfriend, Denise Zogg.

A memorial visitation and celebration of Jimmy's life for family and friends will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of his mother, Bernadine Snyder.
