Memorial services for Jimmy "Red the Roofer" Sullivan, 73, of Barstow, IL, will be 7:00 PM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 Thursday at the funeral home where a Masonic Service will be held at 6:30 PM. Mr. Sullivan died Monday July 18, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center West Central Park, Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made to the Bob Jurevitz Memorial Fund PO Box 232 Barstow, IL 61236. Jimmy was born June 15, 1938 in Nettleton, MS, the son of Curtis and Opal Smallwood Sullivan. He married Sharon Spencer August 24, 1956 in Alexandria, VA. He owned and operated Sullivan Roofing for 42 years and Silvis Quick Change for 27 years. He enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his family and his dogs, Sammy and Bruno. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sharon Sullivan of Barstow; daughters, Cheryl Sullivan and fiance Gary of Davenport, IA, Cindy Jenkins of WI, Suzie Q. (Jim) Lapaczonek of Colona, IL, sons, Douglas (Julie) Sullivan of Geneseo, Gary Sullivan and fiancée Joan of Silvis, Terry "Sully" (Jude) Sullivan of East Moline; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, L.D. (Joy) Sullivan West Palm Beach, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joann Hagen, brother, Merle "Leon" Sullivan.
