Funeral services for JoAnn Pankey, 73, of Moline, IL, will be 10 am Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, IL. Visitation will be 4-6 pm Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Pankey was called to her eternal home Friday, May 7, 2021, from her home in Moline. JoAnn was born August 24, 1947, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Sarfien and Irma (Isenberg) Van Wassenhove. She married Donald Pankey in July of 1971. JoAnn retired as the Executive Assistant from North West Bank, Davenport, after 28 years of service. She enjoyed many sports, mainly of which was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan. She was a faithful member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church Davenport, IA, who organized the children's special programs among many other duties. She was a loving wife, mother and Grammie who adored her grandchildren. Not only did JoAnn love her Lord and serving at her church.... she also loved going out to eat with her husband Don! Survivors include her husband of fifty years, Don; her son, George (Angie) Sodeman, Rock Island, IL, her daughter, Kelly Sodeman-Ormsby (Doug Ormsby), Bettendorf, IA, and her son, Chad Pankey, East Moline; grandchildren, Bailey, Garrett, Cole, Joshua, and Ella; sister, Kayla Bowman, Rapids City, IL; sister-in-law, Sandi Van Wassenhove, Bettendorf; brother-in-law, Emmitt Lack, Port Byron, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christian Sodeman; siblings, Diane (William) VanZuiden, Vonnie Lack, Phillip "Butch" Van Wassenhove, and Mark Van Wassenhove. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Sovereign Grace Baptist Church. The family would like to thank everyone at Heartland Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness.
