Joann C. Ransom, 94, of East Moline, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Genesis, Illini, Silvis, IL.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, IL.

Joann was born May 19, 1929, in Moline, Illinois, a daughter of William and Estelle Sindt. She married Robert "Bob" Ransom on November 25, 1950, in Moline. He passed away April 5, 2013.

Joann will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all.

In earlier years she worked at DeSaulnier's. Joann was an expert Archer and Champion Archery Shooter. She enjoyed doing craft projects, playing bingo, and taking care of her pet dogs, of which she had 10 over her lifetime, and cat "Lizzy".

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Robert Ransom, Jr., East Moline; daughter, Susan (Roger) Rockwell, Moline; grandchildren, Gary (Tracy) Phelps, Coal Valley, IL, Jeramie (Jen) Ransom, Coal Valley, Jacob (Ty) Ransom, Silvis, IL and Tyler Rockwell, Hampton, IL; great grandchildren; Kendra, Alejandro, Marissa, Alyssia, Mason, Jaycee, Cooper and Leann; great-great grandchildren, Annalyn, Lucas, Hunter, Michael and Ellie.

Joann was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sr.; grandson, Brian Martinez; and granddaughter, Lesley Martinez.
