JoAnna M. Higgerson, 74, of East Moline, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025, at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the funeral home.

JoAnna was born on March 5, 1951, in Escanaba, Michigan, the daughter of Harry and Ella Viau.  She married Ronald Higgerson on September 12, 1998, in Moline.  JoAnna had worked for Aramark, John Deere Inc., and East Moline School Bus Service.  She enjoyed going to yard sales, traveling, dancing and feeding her birds and ground squirrels.  JoAnna was known for her banana bread and Jello shots which she served while camping.

JoAnna is survived by her husband, Ronald Higgerson; step-children, Jeff (Vanessa) Higgerson, Jody (Mike) Quinones, and Julie Zei; step-grandchildren, Wyatt, Makayla, Gavin, and Alyssa; sisters, Jeannette (Wally) Viau and Shirley Viau; brother-in-law, Donald Higgerson; nieces, Sherry (Steve) Carpenter, Tina Poquette-Davis, and Tammy (Ken) Poquette-Aylsworth; and nephews, Scott Viau and Bobby Viau.  She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Edna Daniels; and brother, Robert "Bob" Viau.
