Funeral services for Joanne M. Dixon, 68, Moline, are 10 AM Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Visitation is 2-5 PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Augustana College for the Dixon Family Memorial Fund. Joanne died Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis, with her family at her bedside Joanne Windey was born on February 23, 1939 in Moline, the daughter of John B and Lela F (VanBruwaene) Windey. Joanne graduated from St. Mary's Grade School in 1953 and from United Township High School in 1957. She married Russell W. Perkins in 1958. She later married Ronald Dixon on October 2, 1965 in Rock Island, and was his friend and loving wife for 42 years. She started as a key puncher at International Harvester and retired as an administrative assistant from Case IH in 1993. Mrs. Dixon was an exceptional cook who could set the perfect table for the holidays or any special occasion. She was a member of the Friends Circle and the Svithiod Clubs, Moline. She enjoyed the month of March in Marco Island, FL, a week in Door County, WI in the fall and the annual Christmas time Chicago trips which include some shopping, dinners and shows. Joanne was a sports fan who enjoyed the Chicago Cubs and Bears, but especially enjoyed tailgating with family and friends at the Illini games. She loved her family and enjoyed taking the grandkids to Lagomarcino's. Joanne had four very special dogs in her life; Oscar, Hap, Lucky and Susie. Joanne always loved dressing to the nines, and wearing a hat when the occasion would allow. Survivors include her loving husband Ron, daughters Carrie O'Neill, Bettendorf, and Sherrie Brown of Moline, a son John Dixon, Moline, grandchildren; Rachel Petersen, Jennie Brown, Zach Brown, and Adam Boyle, and a sister Cheryl Soucinek, Coal Valley.
