Funeral services for Joanne Wilson, 81, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, East Moline. Services will be live streamed at https://www.facebook.com/VanHoeFuneralHome/. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4-6 pm Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Anyone wishing to attend must wear face coverings and respect social distancing. Mrs Wilson died Friday, April 16, 2021, at Hammond Henry Hospital Geneseo, IL.

Joanne Carney was born April 16, 1940, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Thomas and Virginia (Terhune) Carney. She married Ronald Wilson August 26, 1960, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, IA. He passed away January 02, 2009. She worked at American Air Filter, where she met Ron and later worked as the parish secretary at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline for 36 years, retiring in 2009. She had been very active at the church besides being it's secretary. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, and friend. She and several of her high school girl friends met monthly over the last 60 years to play cards and socialize. Survivors include her children, Pamela (Dick) Hunt, Taylor Ridge, IL, Jill (Craig) Johanson, Moline, and Ron (Jackie) Wilson, East Moline; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ben), Joshua (Caitlin), Nicholas (Samantha) , Jordan (Sarah), Ronald Jacob, Jonah, Jill, Jenny (Craig), and Mark (Lindsey); 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Karen (Denny) Gaddey, Davenport, IA, Linda (Tom) Mack, Riverdale, IA; several nieces and nephews; friends, Judy Poterack, Connie Evans, and Arlene Metz; and her former boss and best buddy, Pastor Kent Umbarger.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to the Catfish Jazz Society.
