Joel A. Martin 46, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away Tuesday June 23, 2015 surrounded by his family and friends from a long hard fought battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline, IL. Joel was born September 3, 1968, in Muscatine, Iowa. The son of Mike and Mary Brookhart Martin. In 1986 Joel graduated from United Township High School. He married Shantel Liddy. After taking Truck Driving training he started working OTR for Schneider Trucking, advancing to driver instructor in Indianapolis, Indiana. He later went to work for Holland Trucking on dedicated freight for Indianapolis. Joel loved animals and had an English Springer Spaniel along with two cats. They provided much companionship for him. He also was an avid Cubs and Bears fan Joel is survived by his mother and step father, Mary(Larry)Vian, Silvis, IL; brother Jeffery (Kim Fuller) Martin;nephews, Doug Fuller, Brandon Fuller, and Preston Martin.
