Funeral services for John Adam, 94, of Naperville, IL, formerly of Coal Valley, IL, will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline, IL.  Mr. Adam passed away Sunday May 26, 2024, at Edward Hospital, Naperville.

John was born July 22, 1929, in Moline, the son of Camiel and Margaret Brust Adam. He served in the US Navy. He married Georgia Studen August 3, 1963, in East Moline. She passed away December 18, 1987.

John was raised in East Moine by his two hard working parents. He always had a job and like most kids of his era his first job was a paper route. John loved music, theater and the arts and he had fond memories of playing saxophone in the UTHS band. These passions directed his educational path and career.  After serving in the US Navy under Harry Truman he put himself through college. John attended St. Ambrose where he received a BA in English and Education. He later completed two masters degrees; one from The Universtiy of Iowa and the other from Western Illinois. John was a teacher and administrator for the Moline School system, retiring in 1993. During retirement John loved to travel, spend time at local coffee shops with friends, and work on genealogy. After moving to Naperville in 2004 John enjoyed being with family.

Survivors include his daughter, Cristin (Michael Campagna) Adam, Naperville, and grandchildren, Ileana and Ian Campagna.
