A memorial visitation for John Barnes, 58, formerly of Silvis, is 4-7 PM, Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Private family committal will be held at Hampton Cemetery a later date. John died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at his home of 20 years in Pembroke Pines, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. John was born August 9, 1949, in Moline, the son of A.C. and June (Brewer) Barnes. He married Joyce Blackwood and together they had 3 sons. He had worked as a HVAC Tech. John was a biker's biker and loved riding and having a good time. Survivors include his sons Mickey Barnes, Davenport, Shane Barnes, Rock Island, and Brian Barnes, West Liberty, IA, four grandchildren, his parents A.C and June of Silvis, and brothers and sisters-in-law Larry and Jan Barnes, Port Byron, IL, Danny and Sharon Barnes, East Moline, and Dennis Barnes, Silvis and a special friend Janice Cannon of Pembroke Pines. John you are gone but not forgotten.
