John D. Bogdan, 72, of East Moline, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025, at his residence.  Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded and no services will be held.

John was born on May 11, 1953, in East Moline, the son of Alex and Helen (Stergulc) Bogdan.  John earned a master's degree in biology.  He worked as a teacher for local schools in Bettendorf and lastly at Moline High School.  John enjoyed golfing, fishing, skiing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time at his cabin on Lake Warren in Monmouth, IL.  He will be remembered for his kind heart and goodwill, always lending a helping hand to others before himself.  John always wanted to learn new things and would do research and read any chance he could.  Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his children.

John is survived by his children, Jacob, Mollie, and Mattie Bogdan; sisters, Nora (Harry) Clark and Mary Emory; best friend and mother of his children, Dawn Bogdan; and best friends, Sandra (John) Anderson.  He was preceded in death by parents and aunt, Inge Heinrich.
