Graveside services for John E. Burns Sr., 59, of Rock Island, IL, will be 11:30 am Tuesday at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 am Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Anyone wishing to attend graveside services needs to be at the funeral home by 11:00 am. Mr. Burns died Thursday, November 26, 2015, at home. John was born May 16, 1956, in Rockford, IL, the son of William and Mary Louise Melton Burns Sr. He served in the US Army. He married Connie Cox October 18, 1980, in East Moline. He worked as a machinist for Milan Surplus, Rock Island, IL. Survivors include his daughters, Jacqueline (Robert) Azbell, Silvis, IL, Jani (Jason) Willis, Columbia, MD, Jennifer (Tony) Guerrero, Colorado Springs, CO; son, John (Kristin) Burns Jr., Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Ethan Azbell and Britta Burns; brother, Charles "Chuck" Burns, Hampton, IL; and fiancee, Regina DeSplinter, Rock Island. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Patricia and Donna; brother, William. In lieu of flowers, memorials for the family may be made to John E.
