Graveside services for John Robert "Bob" Grove, 91, of East Moline, IL, will be 2:30 pm Friday at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend should be at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, by 2 pm. Visitation will be 1-2 pm Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Grove passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, at his home at Park Vista NH Retirement Living, EM.

Bob was born July 6, 1931 in St. Louis, MO, the son of John Harold and Lois (Moore) Grove. He graduated from Millikin University in Decatur, IL & served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Bob married "the most beautiful girl in the world", Shirley D. Rambo, March 26, 1955, in Decatur, IL; Shirley passed away February 29, 2012.

Bob was an Engineering Professional who, following multiple moves, worked for AMETEK (IL & PA) and later retired from H.C. Duke, East Moline. He enjoyed numerous activities during his leisure time, including: bowling in his younger years; Kiwanis for 40+ years; RVing & traveling around the country with Shirley; tinkering around the house/yard; and woodworking (he put his design engineering skills & the skills taught by his shop teacher father to excellent use!). Bob was a very active member of First Christian Church EM for many decades & served in a variety of leadership roles.

Survivors include his children, Tina Grove, East Moline, and Todd Grove, Kansas City, MO; many nieces & nephews and sisters- and brothers-in-law. Bob also was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Grove; brother, Richard Grove; sister-in-law, Annette Grove; and brother-in-law, Jim Stiner.

Memorials may be made to the River Bend Food Bank, American Cancer Society or First Christian Church EM.
