John Huys, 58, of Moline, IL, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 22, 2024, at Trinity, Moline.

John was born November 28, 1965, at Great Lakes Naval Station, Chicago, IL, the son of Patrick and Linda Loftin Huys. He was a graduate of Moline High School class of 1984. He married Donna Guss September 6, 1986, at the former Gospel Temple, Moline. He was a union painter for 30 years, currently working for River Valley Construction.

He enjoyed golfing and fishing, but most of all spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; children, Nicole Huys (Richie Morrison), Dixon, IL, and Michael Huys, Alpha, IL; grandchildren, Caleb and Benjamin; parents, Patrick and Linda Huys, East Moline; sister, Kristy Ketchum-Jackson (Jeff Jackson), FL; niece, Chloe; and nephew, Trae.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother-in-law and father-in-law.
