John M. "Jack" Keemle, 75, East Moline, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Hope Creek, East Moline, surrounded by his family. Funeral services are 7 PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation is from 4 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers and gifts, a memorial fund has been established for the care of his son, Joshua. Jack was born December 31, 1936 in Moline, the only child of Merrill and Genevieve (Franey) Keemle. He graduated from Alleman High School in 1954. He married Mary Kay Stenger on September 15, 1956. He married Christine Thomas on May 24, 1980. Mr. Keemle had worked for Erickson Engineering, Bradley Tool and Dye and retired in 1996 as a tool and dye maker from John Deere Harvester, East Moline. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, won 2 World Series of Drag Racing at Cordova Speedway in the late 50's and early 60's. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and flying model airplanes. Survivors include his children (spouses), Randy (Joan) Keemle, Rock Island, Michele (Doan) Gunderson, Davenport, Rick Keemle, East Moline, Melissa (Lynn) Wolking, Folsom, CA, Angie (Kerry) Snyder, Davenport, Jenny (Jim) Legare, Colona, Eddie (Sarah) Thomas, Milan, Kristy (Michael) Homan, Henderson, CO, Tracey Keemle, Moline, Brent Keemle, Moline, Joshua Keemle, Moline and Jessica Keemle, Henderson, CO; sixteen grandchildren.
