Mr. Oaks died Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis IL. Memorials may be made to the All Animals Humane Society 5111 78th Ave, Milan, IL. Mr. Oaks was born July 14, 1920 the son of William and Katherine (Belcher) Oaks. He married Zelpha Wheeler July 15, 1949 in Moline, IL. He had served in the US Navy during WWII. He had worked for the Rock Island Housing Authority, retiring in 1985. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Zelpha Oaks of East Moline; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Alan Mohr of Eldridge, IA, Melinda and Mike Pettitt of Crystal River, FL; grandchildren, Michael, David, and Emily; sister, Letha Smith of Purdin, MO.
