Funeral services for John D. Weber, 62, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, where a prayer service will be held at 1:30PM. Mr. Weber died Thursday, December 17, 2009 in Moline. In lieu of flowers and gifts, a memorial fund has been established for the education of John's grandchildren. John was born January 27, 1947 in Rock Island, IL, the son of Richard and Helen Fergusson Weber. He married Joan Van Lerberghe July 18, 1970 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. John had retired from the former Case/New Holland Plant, East Moline, retiring in 2000. He had been an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, where he had helped with Sunday School for 24 years. He had been a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters Court 1790. He enjoyed model trains and had been a member of the QC Society of Model Engineers. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Joan Weber of Moline; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Jane Weber of Antioch, IL; grandchildren, Kathryn, Christine, and Jackson Weber; half-brother, Arliss Weber of Midland, TX.
