Jon B. Hunter, 66, Rock Island, died Monday, December 10, 2012 at Trinity, Rock Island. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 5-7PM at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, with a service to be held at the conclusion of visitation. Inurnment will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Port Byron. A memorial fund has been established. Jon was born February 20, 1946 in Moline, the son of John D and Juanita L. Hunter. He graduated from UTHS class of 1964. He married Ruth Ann Murphy in 1996. Jon had worked in the power plant at John Deere and later for Bill's Tree Service and Wright's Tree Service. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann, children Billy Hunter, St. Louis, MO, Jon Hunter Jr., Florida, and Jeanie Hunter, Donaphin, MO, step children, Lindsay Murphy, Moline and Sarah Murphy, Bettendorf, brother, Jim (Diane) Hunter, Andalusia and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife JoAnn, his parents and his sister Virginia Stone. The family wishes to thank Trinity Rock Island, 7 South for their compassion and care.
