Jose Martinez, 77, of Silvis, died on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at home. Services will be held at a later date.

Jose was born on March 2, 1943 in Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Julio and Francisca (Contreras) Martinez. He married Mary Gonzales on April 16, 1988 in Davenport, IA. Jose worked for R & O Specialties in Rock Island in the paint department for farm implements.

Survivors include his daughters, Lolys (David) Martinez, Moline, Leticia Martinez, Mexico, Hilda Martinez, Los Angeles, CA, sons, Edgar Martinez, Mexico, and Ricardo Martinez, Mexico, step-daughters Luci (Scott) Maxwell, Eldridge, IA, and Irma "Lynda" (Ray) Eddleman, Moline, Coni Duarte, grandchildren, Yari, Wesley, Madison, Tyler, Schyler, Sydney, sister Carmen Espinoza, Moline, and 5 brothers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, and one brother.
